On Friday, November 2, Tammy and I left home at 4:30am and headed to Lancaster, PA for a weekend visit. After our five hour drive, we stopped at the Lancaster visitor information center to get our bearings and had some sticky buns for breakfast.
For our activities that first day, we visited the Amish House and Farm on Route 30. We then took their 90 minute Amish countryside tour.
Following the tour, we checked in to our room at A New Beginning Bed and Breakfast which we would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. For the evening's activities, we had dinner at a local eatery called Katie's followed by attendance at the ever popular attraction Sight and Sound where we saw the production of Jonah.
On Saturday, we visited the Mennonite Information Center where we saw several movies concerning the Amish and Mennonites and toured a replica of the Old Testament tabernacle. We then scheduled an individual tour guide who drove with us through the countryside for two hours answering our barage of questions. It was then off to Dienner's (another local eatery) for dinner.
On Sunday, November 4, we packed up our bags and took the five hour drive home.
