On Thursday evening, September 20th, Tammy and I "set sail" for Block Island on the Point Judith ferry. It was a 55 minutes trip; and when we arrived at Old Harbor, we headed to our room at the Sheffield House.
Friday morning, we took an hour taxi tour of the island to get the lay of the island. Following that tour, we were dropped off at the South East Lighthouse for a tour. This is the lighthouse that was moved back from the eroding Mohegan Bluffs which we visited as well while there. We then walked a mile and some back to Old Harbor where we picked up two bikes and headed to Rodman's Hallow for an afternoon of hiking.
On Saturday, we had a tour of Abram's Animal Farm. After that we biked to New Harbor and had a two hour kayak tour of the Great Salt Pond. Sunday was a tour at the Historical Society and head home on the 1pm ferry.
Pictures with some descriptions are to the right.

Absolutely breath (sp?) taking pictures! Jeff loves the ocean, so seeing further up the coast than NC was pretty to see. I'm impressed with all the journalling you are doing. Wouldn't have anything to do with an empty nest would it?
